Oh Ph*ck!

Omar would be best served by going out on the market this winter and getting Mariano Rivera, Goose Gossage, Rollie Fingers and anyone else who is up to the job. Wouldn't have been a bad goddamn idea this past winter either. So far the Mets relief corps has accomplished one thing: preventing Johan Santana from winning another Cy Young. Now they set their sights on losing the whole enchilada. How you can call yourself a general manager when you stick with the same losers that fueled the collapse that nearly cost you your own job is beyond me. Matt Wise. $#%!

But that's now next season's crusade.

This year, what can I say? We're phucked. This pen couldn't save their receipts, much less key games in September. Ayala and Feliciano washed away all the ambivalent to great feelings I had about yesterday. They kicked away great offensive contributions from Wright and Delgado and the gift of shoddy Br*ve defense. The Br*ves and their few remaining fans haven't had that much fun since the last cross burning.

Jerry just doesn't get it. It's audition time, m*therf*cker. All we do know is that the guys you keep going to do not get the job done: Errant Hellman, Shoenworthless, Pedreadful Feliciano, those guys should be on pink backpack patrol. Stokes, Smith and Ayala, despite their recent suckbagness, if used sparingly might be of some use. Duaner Sanchez, well, I don't care to see him either. We don't know how Rincon, Reyes, or the 50 other arms sitting just past the outfield wall. Spare me the hesitation, get those bastards in there and see if any of them can do shit.

And the Brewers, those phat phucks. I guess asking where their pride is is a waste of time. Just look at them!! A four game sweep? They should give CC Sabathia back is what they should do.

***
I guess this guy's not as injured as I thought.

***
Lock up the liquor cabinets and close the church gate, here come the Nationals. The only thing bigger than their suckiness is their attitude and you know they want to sweep the Mets. And you know that's entirely possible too.

I just cannot go through this again another year. I may need to stop watching.

Collapse, Year II? How could they do that to us? But it seems inevitable with our current bullpen.

This is where the 2008 Mets for better or for worse, will show what they're made of. At least maybe these last two shockers might have been enough to shut their traps with the "this is our year" "we're the best team" crap. Walk it, don't talk it, I say. But Kelly Johnson did do some talking on Saturday, which I find a bit disturbing, but not surprising frankly. "Let's make it hard on these guys. Maybe they collapse again". Fair enough, AS LONG as those hillbillies plan on leaving the same pride on the field and playing as hard in their remaining 6 games with the Philmes.

Yes, Omar should have stockpiled relievers last offseason and as far as Matt Wise is concerned, I barely got to see him pitch, but when I heard info about him after we acquired him, he didn't sound right for us. He was reportedly great until he hit a guy in the head. Great that he is so compassionate, but frankly, we need a reliever that can block out all of the distractions, even human ones. We need a guy that can just run over the opposition - no excuses.

It's almost like nothing changes--the tradition of getting bested by the hillbillies from hell is well established. Collapsing in September is not a tradition me and my tenuous grasp on reality can handle though. As I have said before, I am not as big a fan of pennant race excitement as I am of playoff excitement. I can do without this crap.

Is this team different from last year? Same weak pen, but the players, at least, seem to think they are an improved model. And it is comforting to see Mr. Wright out of his mini-funk and both Carli hitting to the best of their ability. They need to stop giving the Philmes hope and confidence with these ridiculous blown games.

Can they tell us a different story this year? If the errors start coming in buckets, we'll know to reach for the sedatives.

Well, at least Good Ollie made a return, which as you may recall, I predicted would happen after Bad Ollie showed up for the Nats. Maybe someone reminded Ollie that the Braves were in town, not the Nats, after the second inning.

Well, the bullpen got NATionalized! We had better start beating up on the Gnats, because you know that the Republic-ans of Georgia are getting ready to lick their Tomahawk chops at the prospects of sodomizing us out of the race.
